“My Tears Water Me”
Crafted in 2025.
Description
“My Tears Water Me,” explores sadness and expressionism through her tears landing on her pants. This feeling of unfamiliarity within her surroundings. How running away from the depth of trauma was all she knew, how Erykah slowly learnt to surrender to her pain, as time went on. Erykah sits in the garden by herself, contemplating what is awaiting in her lifetime. How death was presented at an early age, how deeply wounded she felt, but all she knew was to run away as fast as she could. Instead of repeating the cycle, she is still. Still with the sunflowers he once planted that transcend his speech through their radiance. How he guides the way for her. She continues for him. For the man that showed her true acceptance. He taught her that flowers remind her to stay present in her body and in her mind.
“Energy” was showcased within an art exhibition in Collingwood, VIC, “It Comes With Who I am” depicting themes of “Identity.”
